Ammunition Destroyed by National Army Engineers in Serpeni

CHISINAU, December 7, 2016 — In November, the National Army engineers destroyed 62 explosive objects in Stefan-Voda, Anenii Noi, and Hincesti districts.

According to LTC Serghei Chilivnic, Head of Engineer Service of the Land Forces Command, the largest amount of ammunition was found in Serpeni village, Anenii Noi district. The explosive objects were found by local citizens during agricultural works.

The source specified that, after the research works, the engineer team of the Engineer Battalion identified an artillery projectile of 150 mm caliber, three RGD-5 grenades, four anti-personnel mines, and a bomb-launcher bomb of 81 mm caliber, as well as 1,200 bullets of 7.63 mm caliber.

This year, the National Army engineers destroyed 657 explosive devices throughout the country.
