GPOI Program Discussed at Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, December 16, 2016 — Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru met today with the manager of the GPOI (Global Peace Operations Initiative) project, Ann Stieglitz.

The talks regarded the continuation of the GPOI project to which the Republic of Moldova adhered in 2012.

The Minister of Defense thanked the US Government for the support of the National Army’s reformation goal.

Thus, Anatol Salaru mentioned that one of the National Army’s goals is to participate in peacekeeping missions and GPOI is the program that helps us develop the service members’ training capabilities for such operations.

Ann Stieglitz assured the Minister of Defense that the existing efficient and productive cooperation will continue in the future as well.
