The Book “Omagiu şi recunoştinţă” (Tribute and Gratitude) is Launched at Center of Military History and Culture
CHISINAU, February 28, 2017 — The revised edition of the book “Omagiu şi recunoştinţă” (Tribute and Gratitude), in the memory of heroes who died in the war for the defense of integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova, was launched today at the National Army Center of Military History and Culture. The event was attended by representatives of the Government, Ministry of Defense, combatants, widows, and mothers of the soldiers who died in the war of 1992.
Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura said that the revised edition of the book “Omagiu şi recunoştinţă” presents to the public the names of our martyrs and specified that the book will be useful not only for the academic environment and the families of those who died, but for the young generation too.
According to Chief of Center of Military History and Culture, Col. Dr. Vitalie Ciobanu, the book contains the names of 299 representatives of force structures, volunteers, combatants mobilized from reserve, who died on battlefield, and also the names of those who died later because of the wounds or of those who, for various reasons, were not included in previous lists.
