American Military Official Visits Republic of Moldova



CHISINAU, August 2, 2017 — National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, met today with Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard, U.S. Army Europe, Maj. Gen. John Gronski.

The military officials discussed about the bilateral military cooperation in the current security context, as well as other issues of joint interest.

The National Army Commander informed Maj.Gen. Gronski of the achievements, challenges, and goals of the Ministry of Defense in the context of the defense sector reformation process.

Brigadier Gen. Cutie thanked for the constant support offered by the USA to the National Army through different training and assistance programs, with a focus on training for service members in specialized schools from the USA, providing equipment and vehicles, as well as joint activities and exercised between the National Army and the North Carolina National Guard.

Maj. Gen. Gronski stated that the USA is ready to help the Republic of Moldova in developing the defense sector reformation process.

The American official expressed the hope that the service members’ joint training ativities, beneficial for both armies, would also continue within bilateral and multinational military exercises.

Also today, at the National Army Military training base from Bulboaca, Maj. Gen. Gronski observed the exercise “Dragoon Pioneer” that brings together over 140 service members from the engineer units of the National Army and the North Carolina National Guard (USA).

Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard, U.S. Army Europe, Maj. Gen. John Gronski, together with a delegation consisting of service members from North Carolina National Guard is paying an official visit to the Republic of Moldova within August 2-3, 2017.
