Eugen Sturza Takes Leave of the National Army Commanding Corps

CHISINAU, June 15, 2019 — The National Army Commanding Corps took leave of former Minister of Defense, Eugen Sturza, during a ceremony organized at the Ministry of Defense today.

During the activity, Eugen Sturza thanked all the military and civilian employees for their professionalism, commitment, and support in implementing the reform, programs, and projects started during his mandate.

“I hope that we established the foundation of an army of the future and the Western development model will continue to be the only model accepted by anyone who will be appointed as Minister. I sincerely hope that our military will continue to benefit from the best trainings, equipment, and weapons and will continue to develop their interoperability with the troops of our strategic partners,” said Eugen Sturza.

At the end of the ceremony, Eugen Sturza received a copy of the Flag of the Ministry of Defense, established by Presidential Decree on June 17, 2014.

Eugen Sturza was Minister of Defense during October, 2017 — June, 2019.
