Demining missions of the National Army engineers in August

CHISINAU, September 7, 2020 - The genius teams of the National Army executed, in August this year, 32 demining missions, during which they identified and neutralized 68 explosive objects of different types.

According to the officer of the Engineering Service, Captain Ivan Cornegruta, the largest amount of ammunition was liquidated during that period in the town of Vadul lui Voda, Chisinau. The 29 artillery shells of different caliber, discovered in the forest of the Nistrean park in the locality, were from the period of the Second World War.

The demining mission was carried out by the engineering team of the "Codru" Genius Battalion, led by Captain Ion Golovei, which transported the objects to the training center of the unit to be destroyed in maximum safety.

Captain Ivan Cornegruta specified that during January-August this year, the engineers of the National Army destroyed 1,832 explosive objects on the entire territory of the country.

The most explosive objects being found in villages from Hincesti, Stefan Voda, Causeni, Ialoveni and Anenii Noi.
