Moldovan-British dialogue at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, February 17, 2021 - Acting Minister of Defense Victor Gaiciuc had a meeting today with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova, Steve Fisher.

The two officials discussed various aspects of bilateral defense cooperation, joint actions in this regard, as well as new perspectives for developing the partnership between the two armies.

Thus, Minister Gaiciuc thanked the British side for the support given to the National Army through the donation of sanitary goods intended to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, for educational offers in military education institutions, as well as the contribution to the implementation of the Professional Development Program of the Republic of Moldova within the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI).

For his part, Ambassador Fisher assured that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is still open to providing the necessary assistance in areas of common interest.

In the end, officials agreed to intensify cooperation between defense institutions through the exchange of experience and training.
