The National Army provided logistical support to the COVID-19 Center in Chisinau
CHISINAU, February 25, 2021 - In the context of the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the country, at the request of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the National Army sent to the COVID-19 Center Chisinau 50 beds.
Thus, at the indication of the acting Minister of Defense, Victor Gaiciuc, the furniture was transported and arranged at Moldexpo, on Wednesday evening, February 24, by a group of Service Members of Special Forces Battalion "Fulger".
At the same time, the National Army has intensified measures to prevent the spread of infection, by increasing the number of checks on the epidemiological status in military units and the degree of compliance with the rules and restrictions imposed by the authorities in this regard.
According to Minister Gaiciuc, the military and civilian personnel are provided with all the necessary sanitary protection materials, including masks and disinfectant solutions. "In those days, when we are facing a significant increase in the number of cases of the new coronavirus, it is our duty to join forces and come to the aid of colleagues in the responsible institutions, who have been fighting the pandemic for a year now. We considered it appropriate for the National Army to respond to the call of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to fill the number of beds so necessary for the hospitalization of infected patients. At the same time, I ordered the organization of additional measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 among the military", said Victor Gaiciuc.
It should be mentioned that since the beginning of the pandemic, the National Army has contributed about 140 other beds, of which 34 - medical and participated in the arrangement of the Public Medical-Sanitary Institution COVID-19 Center Chisinau, in support of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
