More and more explosive objects detected by military engineers during the growing season

CHISINAU, April 21, 2021 - The teams of engineers of the National Army have detected 14 explosive objects in several localities in the country in the last ten days.

Thus, the specialists from the "Codru" Genius Battalion intervened in Ungheni district three times, in the localities of Negurenii Vechi, Pirlita and Agronomovca, where they found an 82 mm caliber bomb, a German type antitank mine, a grenade hand, three artillery shells of 76 mm and 105 mm caliber, respectively. The explosive objects were discovered by the locals during the agricultural works.

, the genius team from the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Moldova" was requested in Rezina and Falesti districts, where they discovered on the ground a cumulative anti-tank projectile of 125 mm caliber, a launcher bomb, 82 mm caliber, and a perforating projectile, caliber 75 mm, dating from World War II. The explosive was destroyed in maximum security.

At the same time, the engineers of the "Stefan cel Mare" Brigade, for several days, acted in Hincesti district, Ciuciuleni village, where they neutralized an aviation bomb. The same team was requested in Puhoi locality, Ialoveni district and Revaca locality in Chisinau municipality, where it liquidated an 88 mm caliber artillery projectile and, respectively, two 85 mm anti-tank projectiles.

According to the senior officer of the Engineering Service, Captain Ivan Cornegruta, the number of explosive objects detected in the ground increased due to the beginning of the agricultural works season. In the same context, the specialist urges the population to be careful not to touch the explosive objects and to notify the authorities immediately.
