Military Students Donate Blood
CHISINAU, June 14, 2011 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta and students of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy donated blood on the World Blood Donor Day.
According to Minister Marinuta, blood donation is an act of civic responsibility, and the National Army conveys a message to the whole society on how important voluntary and regular blood donation is.
“Blood is a precious gift that cannot be sold or bought. It may be only donated from one person to another. I call every citizen to join the voluntary blood donation campaign, for it is a simple, quick and safe procedure”, Vitalie Marinuta pointed out.
The 50 students of the Military Academy donated per 350 ml of blood. The military students wanted themselves to take part in blood donation event organized by the National Blood Transfusion Center.
In February 2011, nearly 100 National Army officers joined the voluntary blood donation campaign called “Daruieste o picatura de viata!” (Donate a Drop of Life!).
