The opening ceremony for the multinational exercise "Fire Shield — 2022" took place in Bulboaca (Video)



CHISINAU, September 19, 2022 — Today, at the National Army Military training base took place the opening ceremony of the multinational exercise "Fire Shield-2022" attended by National Army Service members, representatives of force structures from the Republic of Moldova, military from Romania, and the United States of America.

At the beginning of the event, Colonel Sergiu Cirimprei, Deputy Chief of the National Army General Staff, highlighted the importance of the exercise to ensure an efficient training of the participating staff, specifying that such exercises are a good opportunity for the military to train jointly and improve their operational capabilities.

According to the scenario, the military will conduct shooting drills from different types of weapons, including artillery systems, and will be trained in field-specific missions.

The goal of the training is to improve the abilities of the participating subunits and enhance the level of interoperability of the partner countries’ armies in a multinational framework, specific for peacekeeping missions.

The "Fire Shield" is part of the National Army training plan for 2022.

The exercise has been held annually since 2015.
