Medical equipment from the North Atlantic Alliance, for the units of the National Army (video)



CHISINAU, April 25, 2024 — The National Army received a batch of medical equipment, through the Defense Capacity Building Package (DCBI), offered by the North Atlantic Alliance.

The official reception ceremony of the assistance was attended by the Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi, the Director of the Directorate for Cooperation in the Field of Defense and Security of the Operations Division, NATO Headquarters, Piers Cazalet, the representatives of the General Staff of the National Army, the corps of military attachés accredited in the country and the representatives of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova.

The assistance contains 4,000 individual medical kits, 12,000 tourniquets and 60 collective medical kits, which will be distributed to military units. The donation comes in the context of strengthening the medical capabilities of the National Army.

In this way, Minister Anatolie Nosatîi thanked the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Turkey and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as NATO representatives for the contribution and implementation of this important project for the National Army. “This assistance, among many others, is an eloquent example of the effective cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the North Atlantic Alliance in the 30 years since the signing of the Partnership for Peace Program, which is carried out through various programs and initiatives implemented in our country, in the benefit of the citizens”, mentioned Minister Nosatîi.

For his part, Piers Cazalet stated that “the practical cooperation between the Alliance and Moldova is included in the Defense Capacity Consolidation Package, which was launched in 2015 and consolidated last year. Under it, we can cooperate together in almost 20 different areas, ranging from topics such as logistics and training to strategic communication or cyber security,” said the NATO official.

It should be noted that the DCBI Project in the field of military medicine delivered today to the National Army is worth 700,000 euros.
