The leadership of the National Army in discussion with peacekeepers from UNIFIL and KFOR

Chisinau, May 3, 2024 — The Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, and his deputies, had a video conference, today, with the commanders of the National Army contingents in peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Lebanon.

The discussion focused on the security situation in the areas of responsibility, but also on the way the peacekeepers carry out their missions.

General Ohladciuc thanked the military for their responsibility and professionalism, at the same time, he urged the peacekeepers to remain vigilant, to act in accordance with the rules of activity established within the operations, interacting effectively with comrades from the other contingents of the partner countries.

“The Easter holidays, this year you welcome them in the theater of operations. I want to thank the women and men of peacekeeping for their dedication and selflessness in carrying out their missions. Through your good work, the National Army becomes more credible and more interoperable with the soldiers of other armies present in the area of responsibility”, said the commander of the National Army.

It should be noted that currently there are 41 soldiers in the KFOR operation in Kosovo, and 33 soldiers in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission.
