Estonian MPs Visit Ministry of Defense
Chisinau, May 1, 2014 — Defense Minister, Valeriu Troenco, met on Wednesday, April 30, with a group of experts of the Defense Committee of the Estonian Parliament as part of a working visit to Moldova.
The agenda included prior aspects of the Moldovan-Estonian cooperation in the military area and perspectives of its further development.
The meeting focused on security and defense policies of the two countries and the democratic control over the Armed Forces.
Valeriu Troenco thanked the Estonian MPs for the interest towards the Republic of Moldova’s European integration goal and for the support provided in the security and defense area of our country. The Minister put the focus on the need to continue the cooperation between the two states in the military sector.
The Estonian MPs’ visit is part of the project “Reinforcing internal capabilities of Parliament in security and defense control area”, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
